BEST OVERALL
Night Owl IGen Night Vision Monoculars
Our top pick is the Night Owl iGen, Due to its slim design and light amplification night owl, igen is the best night vision monocular.
It works great, the image quality is fully adjustable so when there is a full moon you can turn the game down when it is darker outside you can crank it up.
Night Vision:
The night vision works amazing for the low price it has great adjustment from green, red, or white color in the view screen which is actually a huge benefit. Most night visions just show a green glow on the screen which is harder to see while this one can be nice black and white which is much more realistic.
Connectivity:
It can connect to a TV screen with an RCA jack so you can enjoy observing wildlife through the large screen on your TV
It runs on 4 AA batteries and gives several hours of battery life
Image Quality:
Night Owl iGen's focus on the eyepiece and scope itself is very easy. The images are nice, bright, and sharp. Even with a quarter moon, you can enjoy birding, hunting, or wildlife observing.
Magnification:
The night owl iGen features a 2.6x magnification lens which offers considerable magnification.

FireField NightFall Night Vision Monoculars
The Firefield Nightfall Monocular is a genuine night vision device that has four times magnification with a 120-meter range, has a 15-degree wide-angle lens with IR turn on and off, It's all their in the Firefield Nightfall at an affordable price.
Battery:
It has 72 hours operating battery life, It runs on two lithium-ion batteries. We tested the battery life of our firefield nightfall, we started using it from dusk to dark with the IR on, we were surprised on seeing the battery performance of this low budget monocular.
Magnification:
The Firefield nightfall has a 120-meter magnification with a15 degree wide-angle lens. The magnification is good but not great. we focused a bird's nest and magnified it with our Firefield Nightfall the thing we noticed is that this monocular can will work great till 90 meters magnification then it will start becoming blurry.
Night Vision:
Talking about night vision, the Firefield Nightfall did incredibly well in our test outperforming monoculars with a higher price range. The IR illuminator contributes a lot in making the resolution better in every way.
Image Quality:
The image quality is fuzzy around the edges but the more the light the sharper the image quality will be even in dark places, we used it in the full moon and the image quality was awesome, Turn the IR on and you can see in pitch black too.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
✔️High power built-in IR | ❌Suffers in high magnification |
✔️High performance at a low price | -- |
✔️Compact and lightweight | -- |
Best For Zoom
Bushnell NightVision Equinox Z Monoculars
And that brings us to our last pick, Its magnification is what makes the Bushnell Equinox Z, one of the best in the market. The Bushnell Equinox Z comes in three variants the 3x30mm, 4.5x40mm, and the 6x50mm. The one that we reviewed was 6x50mm.
The first great thing about Bushnell Equinox Z is that it is digital so no need to worry about light accidentally entering in and messing its internal.
Magnification:
The magnification of Bushnell Equinox-Z is superb, it outperformed many premium monoculars. The viewing distance is up to 1000 yards. We were really impressed by the magnification clarity of this monocular.
Image Quality:
The image quality is very good however, one down point is that the image quality becomes granny after 70 meters when the IR is one so we would recommend you to use these monoculars in full or quarter moon.
Battery:
The Bushnell Equinox runs on four AA batteries. One thing that we were astounded of is that this monocular can be powered by a mini USB port. You can use it unlimitedly with all the features turned on by connecting a mini USB charger to the monocular through an AC port.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
✔️High power magnification | ❌View frame is small |
✔️ Can run on a mini USB charger | -- |
✔️Rugged body and water resistance | -- |
